{"id":35,"date":"2014-11-23T19:27:07","date_gmt":"2014-11-24T03:27:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/synthfool.com\/kevin\/?page_id=35"},"modified":"2015-01-27T22:19:24","modified_gmt":"2015-01-28T06:19:24","slug":"roland-pliers-late-1990s","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/synthfool.com\/kevin\/more-content\/roland-pliers-late-1990s\/","title":{"rendered":"Roland Pliers: Late 1990&#8217;s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This text is from an old webpage Kevin had up at the turn of the century:<\/p>\n<p><i><br \/>\nA Jupiter 6 came in for service with several voices inoperative.<\/p>\n<p>Upon inspection, I observed that the sound was altered as I pushed down on the second voice board.<\/p>\n<p>So&#8230; I removed the board and this is what I found:<\/p>\n<p><center><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/synthfool.com\/kevin\/files\/jp6pliers.jpg\" border=3><\/p>\n<p><\/center><br \/>\nInspection of these pliers revealed they were Japanese made.<br \/>\nThe handles were plastic coated, so they didn&#8217;t cause problems at first.<br \/>\nBut the IC leads of the board above eventually protruded and shorted into the metal.<\/p>\n<p>The screw-lock glue was unbroken before the board was removed, so   the pliers were there from time of manufacturer and likely belonged to a Roland assembler.<\/p>\n<p><\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This text is from an old webpage Kevin had up at the turn of the century: A Jupiter 6 came in for service with several voices inoperative.
